Samantha May, Lead Administrator and Lower Elementary Guide
Samantha has been a Montessori teacher for 11 years. She has previously worked at the Montessori School of Beaverton (Portland, Oregon), Childpeace Montessori (Portland, Oregon), and Montessori Bali (Bali, Indonesia).
Samantha has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon and Masters of Education from Loyola College of Baltimore. She is certified to teach ages 6 through 12 by the Association Montessori Internationale. Samantha is also certified by the Washington State Board of Education.
When not at school, Samantha loves to garden, read, try out new recipes. She also loves going on adventures with her husband, Dave, and daughter, Luna.
Tessa Prucinsky, Upper Elementary Guide
Tessa joined Sagebrush Elementary in the Fall of 2016 to help grow the upper elementary community.
She has been a teacher for seven years. Her first school was as a lower elementary guide at Prairie Hill Learning Center in Roca, Nebraska. After three years there, an adventurous spirit took her to New Plymouth, New Zealand to work as the guide at Moturoa Primary with the New Plymouth Montessori Association.
Tessa has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education from Doane University and a Masters of Education degree in Montessori Education from Loyola University Maryland. She is certified by the Association Montessori Internationale to teach ages 6-12.
When not at school, you can find Tessa out walking her dog Stella Ray along the Columbia River, going for a hike, or picking up new books to read from the library. She also loves all things fiber, from spinning to dying to knitting.
Jen Sandvig, Administrative Coordinator
Jen holds an Infant Toddler Montessori certificate from Montessori Education Institute of the Pacific Northwest, in addition to a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences from Washington State University. Prior to her time as a founding school board member and now staff member, Jen led the Toddler Community at another local Montessori school. She also is a small business owner and mom. In her free time Jen loves to sew, read, cook and bake, garden, play board games, chase the family cat and root for the Mariners, Seahawks, Cougs and Americans.
Leah Gilbert, Classroom Assistant
Leah grew up in Vancouver, WA but has lived in the Tri-Cities now for about
15 years. She enjoys hiking, fishing, camping and taking her dog, Lou, to the park. She also likes watching movies and baking with her daughter, Hailey. Leah has always enjoyed early childhood education and she is excited for a chance to learn more about Montessori education.
Karlee Bacastow, Classroom Assistant
Karlee recently relocated to the Tri-Cities from Portland, Oregon. She enjoys reading, camping, watching movies and just being with family and friends. She is excited start this new journey and to learn more about the Montessori way (photo coming soon!).
